La Oscura Noche del Espantapájaros el año pasado había salido en DVD con subtítulos en español.
Ahora salió en Blu-Ray y sigue trayendo los subtítulos en la película.
Pero ahora incluye más y mejores extras que el DVD.
El argumento es el siguiente: Un joven algo retardado es objeto de burla de todos en el pueblo. Pero es acusado erróneamente de la muerte de una chiquilla y asesinado por parte de un grupo de vigilantes al mando del cartero Charles Durning. A pesar de que ellos escapan de las sanciones legales, comienzan a sufrir otra punición, más terrible, que es la muerte a manos de un misterioso y casi espectral criminal
Es una película ochentera hecha para la televisión. Así que no se procupen por el formato 4:3 ya que así fue filmada (igualmente la mayoría de las películas de terror de los ochenta fueron filmadas 4:3 y lugo se las recortaba arriba y abajo para su exhibición cinematográfica, ej: Evil Dead, Return of the Living Dead, etc.)
Frank De Felitta, su director, llegó a dirigir 1 película de cine Scissors (1991) con Sharon Stone.
Curiosamente no tiene entrada en Wikipedia pero por lo que averigué, fue escritor de novelas además de director de películas.
Produjo Audrey Rose (1977, Robert Wise) basada en su novela El Cristal Ardiente, The Entity / El Ente (1982, Sidney J. Furie) también fue una novela suya antes de convertirse en un clásico de Barbara Hershey.
También participó como guionista en una película de ciencia ficción llamada Z.P.G. (Zero Population Growth) (1972, Michael Campus) en donde a Oliver Reed y Geraldine Chaplin se les prohibe tener hijos en un futuro en donde la superpoblación es un problema, les dan un bebé robot que ellos rechazan y deciden escapar de la sociedad para tener su hijo (al estilo de películas como Soylent Green y Logan's Run).
Otros libros escritos por Frank son: For Love of Audrey Rose, Sea Trial, Funeral March of the Marionettes, Golgotha Falls: An Assault on the Fourth Dimension, Oktoberfest y A Swift Death to Critics que no he leído pero que figuran en sitios de ventas de libros.
Raymond De Felitta, su hijo, también es director de cine y lo último que dirigió fue City Island (2009) con Andy Garcia, Julianna Margulies y Emily Mortimer.

VCI offer the same supplement found on their 2010 DVD with the commentary by Director Frank De Felitta & Writer J.D. Feigelson. It's a typical discussion - remaining and production details. A bit dry but still entertaining and informative. Also ported over is the minute-long CBS Network World Premiere Promo in rough shape but I believe there are two new features - Daniel Griffith's documentary "Bubba Didn't Do it" runs over 1/2 hour and fans of the film will enjoy the effort put into it. There is also a 45-minute Q&A with Larry Drake, Tonya Crowe & J. D. Feigelson discussing and recollecting the film production. There is also, a fairly weak, Behind the Scenes photo gallery.
