The Nude Vampire / La vampire nue (1970) - Director: Jean Rollin

Jean Rollins' second feature length film (following Rape Of The Vampire) gets the high definition treatment from Kino (along with The Iron Rose, Fascination, Lips Of Blood and The Shiver Of The Vampires) – a seriously fantastic development for the format and absolutely a gift for fans of the man’s films. While The Nude Vampire is far from Rollin's best efforts, it's an interesting look at what was to come from one of European genre cinema's most gifted and fascinating directors.

The Nude Vampire / La vampire nue (1970) - Director: Jean Rollin

Horror director Jean Rollin followed up Le Viol du Vampire with this equally strange excursion into vampiric eroticism. The plot concerns a suicide cult led by a mysterious figure known as The Master. Oliver Martin is the hero, who tries to rescue pretty Caroline Cartier from the cult, only to find out that yet another group of vampires wants to save her too. There's people with reindeer heads, the usual artsy sex and violence, and a science-fiction subplot about a doorway to another dimension (as in the later Phantasm). Maurice Lemaitre and Bernard Musson co-star in this pretentious but enjoyable shocker.

- Jean Rollin Interview (1080p, 19:06): Daniel Gouyette, Jean Rollin's assistant between 1998 and 2003, videotaped many of their conversations over the years and edited them together into this 20-minute piece, which covers several topics, from Rollin's introduction to cinema and his love of surrealism, to the seduction of vampirism and his obsession with twins.
- Natalie Perrey Interview (1080p, 3:54): Frequent Rollin collaborator Natalie Perrey briefly talks about how she first met Rollin--she played a bit part in The Nude Vampire--and reminisces about the shooting experience.
- Original French Trailers (1080p): Includes the trailers for The Shiver of the Vampires (4:09), The Nude Vampire (3:41), The Iron Rose (3:42), Lips of Blood (2:20), and Fascination (2:33).
