Fox Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of The Mel Brooks Collection on 15th December 2009 priced at $139.99 SRP. Best known as a creator of broad film farces and uproarious parodies, jack-of-all-trades Mel Brooks has been entertaining audiences for years with his wacky and absurdist humour. Presenting several of his films in high definition, this set includes Blazing Saddles, High Anxiety, History Of The World Part I, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Silent Movie, Spaceballs, To Be Or Not To Be, The Twelve Chairs and Young Frankenstein.

BIOGRAFIA DE Mel Brooks:

Melvin Kaminsky (1926-), más conocido como Mel Brooks, es un guionista, actor y director de cine estadounidense, especializado en el género de comedia.
Su entrada en el mundo del cine fue en 1968 con Los productores (The Producers), siendo el director y el guionista. Da vida a un productor de musicales estafador y a un contable tímido y nervioso que encuentran la más grande estafa jamás creada: producir un musical cuyo fracaso es asegurado de forma de hacer más dinero que con un muscial exitoso. Ganó el Óscar al mejor guión en 1969.
Mel Brooks también ha sido el productor de El hombre elefante de David Lynch (1980) y de La mosca de David Cronenberg (1986). Para producir estas películas tan ajenas a su estilo tuvo que crear la empresa Brooksfilms, debido al hecho de que el público, viendo en los carteles «Mel Brooks presenta», pensaría de inmediato en una comedia.  Parte de sui obra:

Mel Brooks fue invitado especial en el programa de televisión llamado Loco por ti (Mad About You), programa protagonizado por Helen Hunt y Paul Reiser, pero la producción de la serie de la década de los años 60 (1965 a 1970) titulada El Superagente 86 (Get Smart), protagonizada por Don Adams, ha sido de lo más exitoso en sus logros televisivos.
